SLES10 doesn't boot past blue screen

I'm using an old version of SLES 10 32-bit on a server which I've recently migrated from VMWare Server 2 to Hyper-V (I know it isn't supported). On boot I get a blue screen but no text and no icons, how can I find the point in the boot process it's failing at?
