SLES install on IBM xSeries

Has anyone had any luck installing SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9.1 on a IBM eServer xSeries 335? I've tried and tried to get a succesful install on this machine with no luck so far. Usually what I see is corruption as it tries to install different packages. At best I've been able to get it to install enough so that KDE comes up, but with enough stuff corrupted so that the system is in a flaky state.

It's never consistant. I could reinstall it, but after going through the install, I'll end up with a system that fails part way through the boot.

Using the same installation discs I was able to install the OS on an old Gateway PC without a hitch. It works beautifully. But I really need to get the OS going on this IBM box if at all possible.

Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bob

This isn't a demo is it? If not, then maybe contacting Novell would be your best option. If you purchased it you will have a support contract with Novell.

Also, now that I think about it, contacting IBM would be a good idea too. Oh, could you post your specs for the hardware or provide a link for the system.

Have you tried Red Hat or CentOS or even any other distro to see if the system works properly?
