SLES 9 Won't install - Help, Please & thanks
This is my first post as I usually find answers in the forums..........so here goes.......
I have already installed Suse 9 and setup our intranet server (HP Server) with no problem. It is running fine. Now I want to create a test machine to test setting changes and software. I have tryed installing it on a brand new pentium duo, 2gb RAM, 250gb hard drive and now just a P3 which meets all the hardware requirements. all I end up with is the grub> prompt with: At boot Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. for the first word, TAB lists possible command comp[letions. Anywhere else Tab lists possible completions of a device/filename.............. I have tryed some instructions from other posts : ie. grub > root (hd1,1) grub > setup (hd0) grup > quit But get everything from selected cylinder exceeds maximum supported by BIOS (this isn't true!) to Cannot mount selected partion. I have some Linux expierience but apparently not enough! Anyone? .......... Help! Thanks Marni |
