sled sp1 cannot use existing nVidia driver

Hi,
I just "updated" Suse 10.2 with the dvd that came with my Linux mag., SLED sp1. I thought I read through enough critiques on the install but I was woefully wrong.
The new install only boots up in a shell and attempts to start kde for example give an err. msg. that the "Display cannot be detected".

This post edited on 10Aug02 because I decided that the easiest and quickest way out was to reverse the above and update SLED sp1 to Suse 10.2. I did and hence am back to square one. I did not want to waste anybody's time trying to answer this post.

They are 2 different version of SUSE. SLED is the "Enterprise" version of SUSE that is known to be stable, and will not have many changes other then security updates etc.

You did the right thing by taking off SP1 for SLED 10.. )
