screen brightness cannot adjust

N.B. Did not get this problem solved, abandoned the install of openSUSE instead.
I have installed openSUSE Leap 15.1 on an acer c720 chromebook and cannot adjust the screen brightness, neither by function keys nor the following.
Code:
~ $ xbacklight
No outputs have backlight property
~ $ cat /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness
cat: /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness: No such file or directory
Fromhttps://forums.opensuse.org/showthre...ss-in-openSUSE I also tried adding
Code:
acpi_osi=\"!Windows 2012\"
at the end of '/etc/sysconfig/bootloader', and rebooted. All to no effect.

Hi,

why did you assume "acpi_video0" was correct? Did you check other other directories under /sys/class/backlight/?

Actually, habit, because that is its location on the laptop I'm phasing out. Thank you for your help, but I have now managed a successful install of arch on the new laptop, so I'm deferring working on openSUSE until I have all the little details worked out on the new machine. I can't mark this thread as SOLVED, so I'll try to edit my 1st post to show it is suspended. Or perhaps a moderator could delete the entire thread?
