Depends on the controller. I managed to get it run with Intel ICH5 by using the boot option APIC. But I am not sure about other drivers. Try SUSE 9.1/9.2

Use 9.2

I have a Rocket Raid 15xx controller with two 80 gig WD drives. Suse 9.1 and 9.2 work fine. However, when I Raid them either level 5 or zero, even with the drivers from the manufacturer, they are seen as separate drives.
