running scripts at boot...

I just installed vnc on my SuSE 8.2 box, but I can't make it to boot the vncserver before someone login...

I've searched the forums and tried the /etc/rc.d methods, like placing the "vncserver" line in rc.local and like it, but nothing works.

How can I start the vncserver on boot?

Thank you.

In general, for SuSE, you'd want to do this:

YaST2 | System | Runlevel Editor | Advanced mode= Y,
Select the service you want to enable (e.g. Xvnc) and select the runlevel(s) you want to start it at (e.g. "5", for GUI runlevel)

For non-SuSE hosts (without YaST2), you'd use /etc/rc.d and/or /etc/inittab.

I don't know if your version of SuSE/YaST2 happens to support XVnc.

If it doesn't, this link should help:

Well I don't have Xvnc listed but I do have xvncserver set as run-level 0, 3, 5...
But still it doesn't load at boot, nor it loads at login... what do I do?

Say, if level 5 is for GUI then what is B and S ? and between?
