run as daemon?

I am trying to run dualserver as a daemon. The author's instructions say:

Quote:
DAEMONIZING

This program should be setup to start automatically
modifying boot scripts in /etc/rc.d/rc.local file
or /etc/inittab file or /etc/rc.d/rc.inet2 file.
Never include -v (verbatim flag) while running
as Daemon from these scripts. There are two alternatives:-

i) Just add the start line in any of above files.
ii) Add the enclosed rc.dualserver script in /etc/rc.d
and make it executable (755). Also you need to add the
lines:-

# Start the Dual DHCP DNS Server daemon:
if [ -x /etc/rc.d/rc.dualserver ]; then
/etc/rc.d/rc.dualserver start
fi

to any of above scripts (preferably to /etc/rc.d/rc.inet2)

Alternative ii) is recommended
Seems straight forward. When I look for the /etc/rc.d/rc.local and /etc/rc.d/rc.inet2 files as root however, I don't find them in the file structure. I find the /etc/inittab file but adding the suggested lines of code to it does not seem to invoke the app as daemon as intended.

What am I missing here?

Thanks,

Brian H.

Since you're using Suse, you can copy the rc.dualserver script in /etc/init.d, make it executable and then create a symlink from rc2.d:
Code:
ln -s /etc/init.d/rc.dualserver /etc/init.d/rc2.d/S20dualserver
