RPM Installation and YAST Problems

Hi guess, I feel like a noob asking this question but i feel that i might not be seeing somethign and i need an extra set of eyes.

When I downloaded an RPM (ati drivers) i opened them and told YAST to install the rpm from krpmview. Now when YAST loads up with i guess my rpm, everything in YAST is blank, no rpm listing no file listing, nothing. All that is in yast is Search: in one frame and all the other frames are blank except for my hard drive status frame.

and when i accept the installation YAST thinks that its installing something but it really isnt.

I really want to install rpms other than what suse has given me, please help!!!

thanks

md

I am not sure what if means to install something from krpmview and why you opened it.
Have you tried to install the rpm by simply clicking it?

Type the name of the rpm you want to install in the search window and press enter. The rpm will be highlighted with a checkmark in the window on the right. Click accept.
