Reoccurring display information

Well first of all I will say that this is my first LQ.org post and up till now Ive always been able to find the answers to my questions hidden in the archives. But no such luck this time, basically what happened as I installed the nvidia 3d accel. drivers through YAST on Suse 9.3 (w/ gnome desktop). Now everytime I reboot I get a reoccurring display information (to change my resolutions) on the top panel. First of all I dont want this what-so-ever (as I never need to change my resolution manually) and 2nd of all it seems that everytime I reboot now not only does it come back even if I manually tell it to 'remove from panel' but theres an additional one there. Hence if i reboot 3 times theres a total of 4 there and if i reboot 7 there will probably be 8 there. Any suggestions? On a related note there is now also 2 gaims that open up when I boot up.
