Removing build dependencies with zypper (OpenSUSE11.1)

Hi all,

Recently I decided to build a software package from source to rectify a problem I was having (lyx, FWIW). To get all the development packages necessary to do so I did:

Code:
zypper si -d lyx
I.E. "install the necessary packages to compile lyx from source (apart from the source to lyx itself)"

This installed quite a few packages (two dozen or so).

My build from source didn't fix what I hoped it would, but such is life

I would like to remove those now unnecessary build-dependency packages from my system, but can't figure out how to do so.

Any help greatly appreciated, in advance

Cheers!

When I have these problems, I make use of rpmorphan. This is a command line program, that does his job very well. You can find it on opensuse build repository, that is, http://software.opensuse.org/search and look for rpmorphan

Thanks for the response clvic, however rpmorphan did not produce the output I'm looking for. I should have mentioned I'd already tried it (and have never found it particularly great anyway).

When I did the install of build dependencies using zypper, it presented me with the list of packages it would download and install. What I'm looking for is a way to recreate that list (and subsequently remove them).

Feels like missing functionality within the zypper command.

Cheers,
