recompile 2.4 in 9.2

Hi.. Have u ever tried recompiling 2.4 kernel in suse 9.2 and suse 9.1 ?
I have been trying it since morning but it fails whatever configuration i choose....

The problem seems to be something really difficult because all the errors are concerned with the sched.c and sched.h files

I think that probably it couldn't be possible to recompile such an old kernel in suse 9.1 and above...
Any ideas?

IMHO SuSE 9.1 and 9.2 won't work with kernels 2.4. Why would you want to do that, anyway?

Thx for yous answer... Can u explaime why is that?

I am not sure, but I believe that the startup scripts for SuSE make use of kernel-2.6 specific functions. The same goes probably for fstab and other parts.
The only distro I have used with both 2.4 and 2.6 kernels is Slackware. Here, the startup scripts adapt to both situations. Still, you need to make sure that you do not use 2.4 or 2.6 specifc parts anywhere in your system.
There's so many free Linux distros out there. If you need a 2.4 kernel, take an older SuSE, or some other distro.

I don;t really know if what you say it is true but still i doubt it.
My problem is that the kernel compilation don't even end succesfully.....
Any suggestion?
