qmake; qt3; suse 9.2 prof

When I try to run 'qmake' in my bash environment, the system tells me it is a bad command. I'm a beginner; not a programmer. SuSe includes the QT3 Library of development tools. But, I could not invoke "make."

I downloaded the tar from TrollTech (the developer), tried to install but the install failed.

Did I mention I'm a beginner?

The reason I want to use qmake is to install a ralink2500 driver for my wireless Lynksis NIC.

Did I mention I'm a newbie?

Maybe you could line out what you have done so far and what errors you got. Are you sure 'make' is installed?

Thanks

I'm in sort of a "catch 22." My Linux box can't get to the Internet because my wireless won't work.

So, I have to cut and paste from the terminal window and use another computer to show my input and output. So, it may take a few days.

"Make" runs but "qmake" does not. I did install the gcc in SuSE. I think the problem with qmake probaby is due to "paths" and other configuration details that I'm just not familiary with yet.

Thanks for the offer and I will respond back as soon as possible.

A quick search of the forums here yielded this thread:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ighlight=qmake

I believe it also applies to your card as well from the searches I did on google. It seems qmake is only required to make the utility itself and not the driver. Hope that helps.
