You mentioned you are using an AMD64, are you using a 64-bit version of SUSE?

alek66 04-18-2006 08:13 PM

Holy repositories batman.

Set "Refresh" to "On" for the Supplementary KDE Repository..

Also, get rid of some IMO.

Then turn Refresh on all your important ones.

I guess this is a case of too many repositories causing trouble. ;)

The dependency problems seem to be caused by package from guru and oc2pus. Probably because they have used a different (meanwhile updated) environment. Have a look if other versions of amaron and jack are available (YaST picks the newes automatically, but maybe an older version works better). You can select different versions in the "Versions" tab of the software managment module.

I am not surprised that a refresh of all your sources takes time. However, it is important to do this. If you know which source you are going to use, you can manually refresh this particular one (Edit -> Refresh in the installation source module).

So whats wrong is that I use too many... ok, IŽll try to update again... but to a lower version to see if it works. The thing is that the software that it needs doesnt exist.
Thank you both!!
-May the source be with you.-:jawa:

Not necessarily. But the YaST system works best if there are only SUSE sources attached. The existens of several versions of the same package makes the system far more complicated to use. That's the price you have to pay for a most-up-to-date system.

About the refresh: it becomes necessary as soon as packages have been updated on the mirror. That may well happen every night, so you'll never know. Better be on the safe side and keep refresh on. But many of your sources contain only special packages. If you keep packman and the SUSE supplementaries (KDE/Gnome) fresh, this is usually sufficient to cover dependencies. The main SUSE 'inst-source' does not need to be refreshed, as it's content does not change.

EclipseAgent 04-19-2006 09:28 AM

I would keep:

CD
Packman
Guru
Supplementary KDE 3.5 Update
Supplementary applications and tools

If you look really closely (ok, you don't have to try too hard) but most of your stuff are duplicates in the first place.

All I keep are

Packman
Guru
Supplementary KDE

I have other there, but I keep their status to "Off" Until I know I want them

whats worng now?
help me jebuss

EclipseAgent 04-20-2006 11:54 AM

Try turning that one off, the repository seems correct, so maybe it was down or you were just having a problem updating at the time.

Then see if you are still getting some dependency issues.

alek66 04-20-2006 12:30 PM

yes I do! they just keep popping out... this didnt happen last time

What do you need poppler-qt for, if poppler is not installed? I think you can safely delete poppler-qt. Otherwise install poppler (should be available from ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distr...SS/inst-source )

BTW: I feel uncomfortable opening your links at work. There are lots of porn-like pictures showing up.

alek66 04-20-2006 12:58 PM

ok abisk, I will search another place to post pictures porn free. Thanks. I will erase poppler... I dont know how it got there in the first place.

4 of your yast sources are redundant also.pick the fastest/most reliable mirror and remove the others.

alek66 04-22-2006 03:04 PM
