Problems installing SUSE 10.1 - No catalog found error?

On the page where it shows the partition and packages, under packages, I get the following error:

No catalog found at 'cd:///?devices%2fdev%2fhdc%2c%2fdev%2fhdd'

Anyone know what is wrong? I burned two disks and I experience the same error.

At what point in the install do you get this? During install do not add any sources, then do the updates, install all updates, then add sources IMO.

Get it at the beginning of the setup trough regular installation. I do not make any changes in the settings.

I had the same problem; here's a link to a good discussion about it.

(http - I can't post links for some reason) forums.suselinuxsupport.de/index.php?showtopic=37340&hl=no%20catalog%20found&st=40

I burnt the DVD image to a DVD-RW on a external USB DVD writer. Now when I tried to install it that way, the installer loaded up fine, the DVD disc check passed, but the installer comes up with that software package error "No catalog found, blah blah blah". However, when I put the DVD into my IDE drive and tried installing, I was able to read all the packages and install.

Note that Neo's tip (in the link above) on aborting the installer and restarting it did not work for me (when using the USB drive).

I was having the same problem during install of 10.1. I found a workaround; try opening then closing the cd/dvd drive tray.

I followed the link:

Everything worked fine. I am installing on a vmware (FC5 host).
