Problem with X

Greetings,

I've installed SuSE 9.3 today because I heard many good words about it but I have problem. My X Server [graphical] won't run.. I tried editing resolution in /etc/X11/xorg.conf but nothing.. When processes, modules, etc. got loaded, screen gets black and I can't see anything. All I can do is enter console via keyboard shortcuts..

Anyone can help?

P.S. My graphical card is ATI Radeon 9600 pro [128 mb].

I must correct myself, X is running, but I can't see it. I see just black screen.

binary drivers

The definite solution for the 3d problem and a possible solution for the black X is the binary ATI driver. I'd post a link but you sbould google so that you can match your architecture and get their installation instructions. Alternatively, if you can run Yast2, the download is available from there.

Unfortunately, that is all I know. I won't be able to help either of you anymore. But tell me if it works.
