Problem with Firefox and youtube videos
Installed Suse 11.0. Firefox version 3.0b5 beta comes installed, and youtube videos work fine. They also work fine in Full screen mode.
So I install the latest version of firefox into my home folder and run it from there. I install all of the exact same plugins that the beta has. Youtube videos work, but as soon as I hit the button to view in full screen mode, firefox quits. It just shuts down completely. I have the exact same issue on my laptop as well. I don't think it is a problem with plugins. Like I said, videos work fine, until I hit the 'Full Screen' button. They work in Beta, but not in Firefox 3.04 Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be? Thanks ! |
I suggest that you run Firefox from a console so that any errors are reported to there. That may then provide you with information which allows you to work out the actual cause of your problems.

OK I did that. There is a lot of output. As soon as I try to resize to full screen, this is what I get on the console:
It's actually too much to post. Way over 25,000 characters. Could it have anything to do with the fact that I have 2 instances of firefox on my system? The original beta installed in the root folder and the latest version installed in my home directory? |
There is another forum thread that talked about hardware acceleration in the flash plugin:

Hey thanks PresGas. That got it solved. I appreciate the help.
