problem with downloading
 

well i downloaded the dvd eval a week ago and i think i had a falty download...anyway i go to redownload it (ive tried about 8 times now) and with about an hour left in the download it says cannot download file, server has reset...this makes me very mad beacuse its about a 3 hour download..is there a diferent mirror i can use? also the dvd eval..i dont want 5 cds..lol

Try to download the DVD or CD set with Bittorrent.
Works much better.

i already tried that ive never used it before and it just put a little thing on my desktop that i couldent even open..how do you use bittorret

Download a Bittorrent client like: Bittorrent (http://www.bittorrent.com/) or similar (ABC, uTorrent, Azureus).
Then download the torrent file contained on the webside or http/ftp-downloadside. Then open this torrent file with the Bittorrent client and after a while the download speed rises.
I only download DVD-Isoimages with Bittorrent, since download errors do not occur.

you don't need to download any dvd or cd set. why not to do a net install? just go to opensuse.org and follow the instructions there to do a net install. I did it now 5 times on differnet machines. It worked quite well.

The main things you need are:
download the iso-image from a suse-mirror. write down the server path to the install directory which is given there. ping the server e.g. ftp.tu-chemnitz.de and write down the ip address, you will need it in the beginning of the installation. that's mainly all. then everything should work like a usual installation from a cd or dvd.
