Question Problem installing 64 bit version

I have a Biostar M7vit Pro with an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ processor. After downloading the 64 bit version, I got the following message:

nice hardware, but you have a 32 bit system and ask me to reboot.

Can anybody tell me:

How can I solve this issue, or

What are the requirements to be able to install the 64-bit version in my computer

Thanks and best regards

F Lorenzo

You need a new(er) processor, all current AMD and Intel are 64bit

see:

Note: before going 64bit you should search forums for issues/advantages
