Printing multiple pages per sheets

Hi, why do I have a different "printing options screen" in openoffice and in kate for example ? When I'm in kate, if I press "Print" I have the option (when I click on properties of my printer) to print 2 or 4 pages per sheet. But in OpenOffice, I can't do that (I still can press the properties button of my printer but the options are completly different and there's no option to print multiple pages per sheet) . Why ?

I only have one printer installed (Samsung ML-1710)
I have SuSE 10.0 and KDE 3.4

Anybody can explain why I don't have the same options when I print from two different applications ?

Thank you.

I think the reason is that OpenOffice has it's own set of printer dialog boxes. Probably left over from the days when font support in X was really broken.

Try exporting your document as a PDF to see if you have more printing options and google on "printing 2-up linux" to see if there is a commandline utility you can use.
