Printer keeps stopping

I installed openSUSE 10.3 on my mom's computer last week and everything worked fine, including her HP photosmart 8250 inkjet. Now that I'm 600 miles away, her printer keeps stopping. I showed her how to use the KDE control center to start her printer again but she says every time she restarts her computer she has to go to the control center again to get the HP to print.

Anyone know why the printer keeps stopping?

I've had it happen to me before but it was always because the printer wasn't plugged in or turned on when I tried to print something. She says she's turning it on before trying to print. Also, does anyone know a command that will restart the printer quickly? TIA

try this

http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/trench/15089.html

Just set up a shortcut to (re)start the printer service.
