Everytime my SUSE 9.1 Personal starts up the Hardware Wizard asks me to configure my monitor because it hasn't given it's X and Y coordinates by itself or something like that. I then follow the wizard and configure it and it tells me that everything will work the next time X is started. So I restart my computer and the Hardware Wizard comes again and exactly the same happens again and again and again everytime I start the computer.

Anyone have any ideas? I would be very grateful :-)

This is a great forum btw, have learned alot just by reading through the forums and the tutorials etc. :-)

similar prob like me 1 hour ago with SuSE 9.2!
yast recognized a BELINEA 17" crt as VESA-crt with 1280x1024@85!!!
1)via failsafe manually changed to BELINEA1024@85 --> nothing=black screen
2)wanted to change to VESA or BELINEA 1024@60
=> no chance, everytime again and again: "please configure monitor...." blablabla, but it´s all done! and after entering advanced settings (monitorsize in mm,..) SuSE hangs!!!

after 3rd reboot (failsafe-yast) it accepts the settings and now it works.
