Unhappy philips freevents & suse

dear all,

I have a philips freevents laptop with intel core 2 duo processor. I need linux for work and I knew from the web that suse 10.3 works very fine with my laptop. At the moment I have a modified version of ubuntu but it does not work properly.

All the other distro do not work.

I have searched for suse10.3 but I have seen that there is just 11 11.1 and 11.2 on opensuse distribution. Thus I have downloaded the two but the installation freezes when the system try to see the ethrnert card, that is a realtek RTL -8139/8139CI8139C+. In particular, they froze when they try to install the 8139too driver for the realtek. I have tried all the options that the install help suggests but the result does not change.

what you suggest? Have I to search for the old 10.3 anyway?

For my intel dual core processor, should I install suse versions as i386 or i586 or x32??

thank you very much

gian

Puppy will work on almost any box. Sticking with your original questions, 10.3 is "sort of" available; just change 11.? to 10.3 at the prompts and depending on how Novell feels that day, you'll find it. I'd go with the 586 flavor.
