OpenSUSE.org goes live!

http://www.opensuse.org/

Granted, there's no OpenSUSE 10.0 beta to download (yet), but I'm really looking forward to it now that Novell decided to open up SUSE. It's a great move IMHO and I can only see good things come out of it. :)

Since I'm a complete n00b to Linux, I have a question. Does anyone know if for instance SUSE is able to upgrade itself indefinitely? With that I mean, if I install SUSE 9.3 today, and 10.0 comes out in the next 3 months, will I be able to fully upgrade everything to that version or do I have to reinstall everything from scratch? Thanks all for your input.

Suse upgrades - should be no problem

Hi -

I've never had any trouble with SuSE upgrades - including even from SuSE 8.2 directly to SuSE 9.3 (no kidding!)

That's good to hear, Paulsm4. There's nothing more annoying than upgrading something just to learn it screwed up your entire PC.

Hmm...it seems OpenSUSE.org is down again... :( but luckily, I managed to grab a screenshot of the website before it vanished...hehe :p Y'all can take a look at it here (sorry for the large image, but I have a Dell 2405FPW widescreen LCD). ;)
