openSUSE 12.2 no mouse support in remote shell with midnight commander 4.8.6

I have installed midnight commander 4.8.6 on a x86_64 machine with SUSE 12.2

When using a remote shell (so log in from remote) there is no mouse support in midnight commander 4.8.6. Probably a MC issue however I could not find anything on the internet to solve that problem. There are articles that you have to install gpm (which of course is installed) but that is for local use.

So who knows how to get mouse support in midnight commander (v4.8.6) in a remote shell

Sorry but this is not a double post. This thread handles over not having mouse support when remote login to suse 12.2 when using midnight commander
The other post handlels over old midnight commander in repository which does not work properly when using ftp in midnight commander
