opensuse 12.1 , gnucash crashes while starting the program
Installed opensuse 12.1 on my 64 bits and on my 32 bits computers.
Installations problemless. However, the program which I used very much, gnucash, crashes during its startup. It just quits. Internet search has given me the the impression, that a wrong version of the program guile may be the cause of the problem. Any idea or just waiting for an update by the opensuse oss repository? Thanks, loe |
Have you started gnucash from a terminal to see what, if any, messages it may spew forth? Those messages might give you something useful to Google.

Thanks for the tip to start gnucash from a terminal and thus being able to see the progress text.
The text shows clearly that things are no good. To understand the meaning of the text is beyond me, but it is indeed a good starting point for "googling". Thanks. I think a "solution" can be found about "the gnucash 2.4.7-3.1.2 problem" in opensuse 12.1 on the following adress : http://forums.opensuse.org/english/g...-crashing.html I agree with the remark made on this forum on nov. 28. Quote : "I will wait for the team to produce and push a patch to solve this problem" etc. For me it means that I am going to use, for the time being, kubuntu 11.10. Here, gnucash 2.4.7-1 works flawlessly. |
