openSUSE 11.2 installation over FTP (local machine)

I've looked on the internet, and went through forums but can't seem to get this one working.

I've set up an FTP server (vsftpd) on a CentOS 5.4 machine. I can get to ftp directory using a Win XP machine. But when I boot the computer where I'm trying to install using a boot cd (openSUSE-11.2-NET-i586.iso) and after selecting FTP as the source medium, it doesn't see the installation source and return an error.

Here is what I'm using:
Enter the IP address of the FTP server: 192.168.1.68
Enter the directory on he server: /pub/centos

I've extracted openSUSE_11.2_i386.iso image file into /pub/centos folder.
I installed CentOS 5.4 using FTP with FTP server running on Win XP machine, it went smoothly.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

i think you have to drop the /pub
/pub is by default anyway. try just using centos
also, is the machine picking up an ip by dhcp?? it has to be in order to reach the remote ftp server

Thanks for the reply. DHCP was fine, because in trying I was looping through the process several times and I could see the configured (valid 192.168.1.0/24) IP address. Good news is I've installed it successfully using a public mirror FTP.

I might be something to do with SELinux but then I'm no expert.

no, it was because you used the wrong path

/pub/centos

should have been

centos
