Opensuse 11.0 usb sound and keyboard porblems

Hello,

After my success with one computer I installed Opensuse 11.0 64bit on another. This one I picked KDE3.5 because KDE4 is a little unstable. Anyway, I don't think this is the cause of the problems.

I'm having a couple of issues, firstly my USB sound card, Terractec Aureon 5.1 USB, doesn't work. It worked perfectly in 10.3 but now it doesn't. I think it is partly recognised because if mute it, and hear a changing in the speakers. In stalled it as a generic usb sound card in yast, I haven't yet changed any settings from the default. No problems produce any sound and, lsmod lists the usb sound module as running and I haven't found any errors or any use. Anyone know what I might change/look for more information.

The second thing that is very odd it the keyboard layout. The first time I installed I picked UK and it didn't work and I ended up with US. Also whenever I tried to change it in yast2 (gui) yast would crash, and the command line yast would tell me it is UK when it wasn't. Anyway, I reinstalled and it is now UK but its still acting strange. Pressing the down arrow in shell window in KDE is recognised as a return or enter, not scrolling through commands.

The even odder thing is that I think the two might be linked and there is something up with the USB support in Opensuse 11??

Thoughts anyone?
Phil

I think i have nailed the keyboard problem, it would appear that picking the keyboard I have in KDE was a mistake. After I had used it more I noticed loads of keys wrong, delete was print screen etc. So I picked MS Natural instead of Ergonomic 4000 and it seems to work better.

However, yast2 keyboard, and mouse configuration is still bust, anyone else found that?

Problem with the USB sound is still there to.

Thanks,
Phil
