Hi dth1, I am dl iso KDE now. Is it possible to upgrade only or do you have to clean install?

I did a clean install but it might work out fine with just an update (the option for this is included during the installation options). I would back-up your data first, then do an update - see how it goes and if none too clever you can always do a clean install.

One thing I did do when installing (same as you with the kde cd) was let the install include the online repositories at the start. This gives the kde cd and about 800mb of extra stuff - which obviously takes awhile to download & install.

Please post back to say how you got on.

Hi dth1
The update went without any problem. But I cant see the differences. What KDE version do you have? Mine is

Operacijski sistem: Linux 2.6.22.5-31-default x86_64
Trenutni uporabnik: bgorjup@riba
Sistem: openSUSE 10.3 (x86_64)
KDE: 3.5.7 "release 72"

kde 3.5.7.

10.3 looks pretty much the same as 10.2 - except it has the green theme.

The main differences I think (so far) besides being more updated packages are:-

1) quicker to boot
2) the package manager is much much quicker
3) on yast software there is a new option to include lots of additional sources automatically (packman etc)

It's because too many people are connected to the mirror, maybe more people are finding out about it

Been using 10.3 RC1 for a week or so, looks very interesting. I especially like the new yast module that lets you fiddle with the kernel I/O scheduler
