OpenOffice ?

Hi all. I downloaded and installed OpenOffice 2.0.4. I purchased Novell SuSe 10. When I installed it, it had Novell's version of OOo 2.0. I then had 2 copies of OOo installed on my system. In order to get rid of the older copy... ie Novell's ver. I did the following:

1. Went into YaST and did a search for openoffice
2. There were 2 items highlighted in red. I checked the ver. # and then deleted them.

This seemed to work, because now when I open a file, it opens up in the new OOo instead of the old.

Now for the questions.

1. Should I have upgraded this way? After I extracted the tarball, I had to individually run each rpm.

2. Why haven't the file icons changed? When I upgraded to OOo 2.0.3 on my XP box, the file icons changed. Did I forget to install an rpm?

Sounds like the upgrade went ok. Did you install the SUSE specific rpm that was included with the other openoffice rpms?
