Try this:
- change to console (Ctrl+Alt+F1),
- login as root
- type 'init 3' (changes the runlevel to non-graphical mode)
- type 'sax2' (this will start graphics configuration)
- enter the correct settings, save and exit
- type 'init 5' to get back to graphical mode and see if it works.
If it doesn't, you may need to install the NVIDIA driver via YaST Online Update (YOU).

It might even be a monitor problem (purely hardware). Have you checked the monitor first?

No its not the monitor, the dell TFT works fine in Windows XP. I have pictures on my digital camera which I can send via email, also tried sax2 the display was corrupted in that as well, it detected my hardware fine but it was using the VESA 1024x768 24depth driver.. how can i change this when even that displays corrupted?

I may be wrong on this but if sax selected VESA 1024x768 I believe it knows a monitor is there but doesn't recognize what it is. It may even have your monitor in its list so you need to select it for sax.

Run SaX from the menu in KDE or Gnome, or from YaST select Hardware then Gra[hics Card and Monitor.

Tried that..
Now as I can't log into KDE , I switched to console then init 3 tried to run sax2 and yes you've guessed it, even that was corrupted.
So now what I want to get this thing running!!!
An unhappy Linux user
