Nvidia video drivers

Hello i have followed the instructions on http://www.softwareinreview.com/cms/content/view/60/
to get pretty much everything running except my nivida drivers.
i have tried to add
download.nvidia.com/opensuse/10.2/
as an ftp server for the last 2 days and it keeps timing out.
all i am missing is
Search for nvidia and mark the following packages for installation:

* nvidia-gfx-kmp-default
* x11-video-nvidia

does anyone know where i can get those files because i think nvidia's ftp server is down or am i doing something wrong.

You could just download the bin file from the nvidia website and install it. Before attempting to install the bin file, you need to make sure you have the kernel-source installed and gcc.

Sorry the file is actually a run file and not a bin file, so I don't think you are using the right file. What I meant was that you had to go to the nvidia website, download the latest drivers for the architecture you are using and install those. To install the drivers, you would need to do something like
  1. CTRL-ALT-F1
  2. login as root
  3. init 3
  4. chmod +x NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9746-pkg1.run
  5. ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9746-pkg1.run
  6. sax2
  7. init 5

64176 frames in 5.0 seconds = 12835.082 FPS
