Nvidia command line problems

Hey,

I just got a gforcefx 5200 and after a while tinkering, i got the nvidia drivers working by setting them up in YaST and Sax2. When X starts, I get the nvidia splash screen and the card works great, except if I try to go to the command line (like with ctrl-alt-F1), I just get a bunch of colorful squares, and no text. Did I do something wrong during the setup?

I ended up (not just because of this problem) switching over to gentoo, and haven't had this problem since. Maybe it's just a suse glitch
