Nvidia card not recognised?

Today I installed a new graphics card on my Suse 9.1 Pro. The graphics card I had before was an Nvidia MX 440 - the new one is a Nvidia Geforce FX 5700 LE. I read in a readme that said, to enable 3d support for my newly installed card, all I had to do was use YOU and tell it to update the Nvidia drivers.

I did this, logged out of my session.. and the screen went blank! I resetted the PC, and couldn't load KDE, so loaded failsafe and managed to get my x-server up and running, and from there I could start KDE. Things seem to be back the way they were before now, but the problem seems to be that SaX doesn't recognise my graphics card.. it has listed the 5700, and the 5700 VE, but not the 5700 LE !!

Is there anything I can do to get round this, as I would like full support my card.. I got a DVD drive today as well and want to make the most of it!

"it has listed the 5700, and the 5700 VE, but not the 5700 LE !!" They all use exactly the same driver anway?

Have you actually gone to nvidia.com and tried to install the drivers on your own using the free instructions?

No I hadn't used the ones from the nvidia site, as I thought it was a more difficult way of doing it, but it looks like that is the only option, so I will go ahead and try it! thanks anyway!
