Exclamation "numlock" and "capslock" freeze keyboard

Hello, All

I'm no newbie to suse or linux. But after a install of suse 9.2 on a Compaq Proliant 1850R server, It install is fine and runs smooth but when ever the num-lock or caps-lock or any numbers on the number pad are hit the entire keyboard is locked up. The shell blinking prompt stop blinking also and no keys what so ever work, I'm not even able to switch virtual terminals.
My install does not have a GUI and user the keymap qwenty/us.map.gz, I also disabled compose tables in /etc/sysconfig/keyboard. I have had this problem several times on this same type of Compaq server.

I had the same problem with Fedora 4 and could solve it with deactivating usb
(linux nousb on the installation mode selection).
