Novell Linux Desktop vs. Suse

thanks for filling me in. i was just a little confused on that matter...

i wondered about it because i was successfully able to install SUSE 9.x RPMs on a NLD system. (several apache2 packages, gaim, ftp client).

or should i ask: That is okay to do.... right??

Well, it works for installation of single packages, but the updates and fixes for NLD are not the same as for SUSE prof. You can't keep your NLD current by subscribing to SUSE professional updates. But if you need a package that is not in NLD then pulling it from SUSE prof is ok, I think. If not, Yast will tell you.
