Not able to dual boot Suse linux 10 with Winxp on dell d520


hi, I m using dell latidude d20 with windows xp but now i want to dual boot with Suse linux 10. Can u help me how to dual boot.

The simplest way to setup a dual boot disk is to first reinstall WinXP and, when doing so allocate some percentage of your hard drive for XP (the remaining space can then be used for Suse). Once the Windows installation is complete, insert the Suse installation disk and install Suse in the remaining disk space. During the Suse installation, the boot loader will automatically detect the WinXP share. Once the Suse installation is complete and you reboot your machine, you will be given the choice of which OS to load.

Another option is, and this is probably easier, just install xp on the entire drive. Then suse will decide on its own to shrink your windows partition and setup suse on the rest of the drive. It's the easiest way for newbies I think. That's the way I strted out, but now I like to resize what suse offers most of the time
