No SUSEplugger in 10.0

I just did a clean install of SuSE 10. SUSEwatcher is installed and runs in the tray properly under KDE, but SUSEplugger does not. I found both apps in /opt/kde3/bin. SUSEwatcher can be run just fine, but SUSEplugger does not run, or error, or anything. Single, or double, clicking on it is completely ignored. When I used to run SuSE 9.3 both worked fine. Any ideas?

Sure it doesn't run? On my system, the tray symbol does not exist, however the plugger is running in the background (and working).

You can check with Ctrl+Esc (brings up the system monitor) or 'ps ax | grep suseplugger' from console.

You are correct. It is in fact running fine. Any idea why no icon, the SUSEwatcher icon works fine? Do we have a configuration problem somewhere, or does SuSE have a minor bug?

I just found this in the database:
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=120438

But it doesn't work. Whenever I start suseplugger manually, I get the error "Communication problem with suseplugger, it probably crashed", but it is running and working. However, I cannot enter the configuration dialog.

When I updated to 10.0, I had a lot of old (9.1) KDE configuration files in my homedirectory, which I kept unmodified. Maybe this caused the problem...

I don't know how to make the recommended change they are talking about in the bug report, unfortunately :-(

But, my install us SuSE 10 was clean, so I had no old config files, if that helps any.

I just started suseplugger from command line with these parameters for testing.
