Hi I am getting error

"no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH"

using Suse 9.3, KDE 3.4

any help to fix very appreciated, thanks very much

You need to install gcc (gnu C compiler). It's on one of the cd's.
You might need make and c++ as well, YAST will take care of the dependencies.

If you want to compile KDE programs, install kdelibs-devel (among with gcc-c++ off course). This gives you the missing header/include files required to compile the software.

you can also add the kernel-sources
