Newbie needs help configuring Brother printer w/ suse 9.2

Newbie needs help, I'm having trouble configuring my printer, I'm running Suse 9.2; and I have a brother MFC-3420c usb port printer. Yast detects the printer as a configurable printer but once selected another screen is displayed displaying the settings that appears to be correct. I attempt to test print and the following error: "Queues that do local filter cannot be tested here. Proceed to next dialog to select printer model and test the queue after the printer model is selected."

Suse does not have the MFC-3420c listed as a choice to select, so I downloaded a supported driver from from the Brother web site and installed it using Yast, it still does not display the printer model to configure.

any help would be appreciated.
