in a terminal/console enter "man ifconfig". theres probably an administration gui tool in kde/gnome/whatever SUSE uses to do it for you, look around in the menus.

"creating a network" is a pretty broad phrase. What specifically would you like to be able to do?

I wanna be able to share files. Also one of the system is brand new , I wann see if I can make that as a server

One way is to export a directory you want to share. Other systems can mount it of type NFS.

Also look at SAMBA (www.samba.org) for creating Windows shares, it comes with most modern Linux OS's.

For more hardware details, search for TCP/IP and other home networking guides.
