The easiest way to get a dvd is to by a magazine called linux with a dvd in it. I think such mag´s should also be available in the USA.

If you don't mind using Ubuntu, you can always request free CDs from their web site. It may take a week or two to get them, but they'll send them free of charge.

https://shipit.ubuntu.com/

If you can't find anyone to send you the SuSE 10.2 DVD, drop me a PM with your address and I'll see if I can't burn and send you a copy...

The download is free, but maybe that's not what you meant.

Except for Ubuntu, you normally have to pay **something** for ready-made CDs.

They often come "free" with magazines--unless you consider that you pay more for the magazine

If you only have a slow dialup, you can order all the linux disk you like from OSDisc.com at resonable prices.

The openSuse 10.2 is at;
http://www.osdisc.com/cgi-bin/view.c...cts/linux/suse
for 10.00 bucks US moneys.

another place is www.cheapbytes.com they have real super low prices and often times package them to get them even lower buying several distros at once.

I also found a place where a guy filled a 200gb hard drive with ISOs but can seem to find the link right now.

Want one

go to ebay, look for it there, I got mine for $5.00 and I am running SuSE now. It was even ordered from Novell!!! Which is like $50 from them! So, look in ebay for SuSE 10.2 and check it out. You may get it for cheaper!

Try Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Edubuntu/Xubuntu

Hey, you can order free cd's from Ubuntu! Or just download Ubuntu from www.ubuntu.com and all you need is 1 blank CD-R. I am also running Kubuntu, the KDE version of Ubuntu Linux, it's a good system too, I do like suse still, if you want to know what it looks like, I can send you pics. I would order a free Kubuntu CD, I burned it on my own CD though. There are also other versions of it called Edubuntu and Xubuntu, I haven't really looked into them yet. Also, with that version of Linux, pretty much any wireless card works out of the box without doing anything, unlike SuSE.

any good ones there??

i ihave tried the ubuntu and kubuntu... kubuntu is not that good in my opininon on the other hand i like ubuntu ...but it lacks configurability,,,,not many of the Gnome settings can be configured in ubuntu....i heard in suse you can make a lot of easy changes to the Gnome ...so iam intrested in trying it...5$ is nearly costly...its nearly 250 bugs here.... if anyone is intrested in donating me used suse cds i will be grateful....my internet usage is limited to 700 mb so i cant download...kindly anyone mail me if they are willing to donate me free open suse cds

Hell dude
I could make you a couple dvd's, multidistro or just single distro
cd/usb/dvd
I got scripts make it into dvd from usb zip pkg

I could also burn a dvd containg just the seperate install ISO'
and you just copy iso(s) to hd and burn seperately

like put all the big install cd's isos into a data dvd
it wouldn't cost nothing from us either
