Need an IP address for OpenSuSE net install
My netboot install cd for opensuse 10.2 is asking for an IP address for the network http install server.

Where do I get the ip address? thx!

I think that you are out of luck.

According to ,

"There do not exist fixed stabilized network installation repositories for development releases like beta and rc releases but you can install the Factory Distribution."

In other words, you will have to wait until 10.2 becomes the stable released version before Novell make the web installation available. The CD you have exists because it will be needed in the future.

At the moment, for version 10.2 you will have to download the iso's and install locally.

If you follow the instructions from the OpenSuSE site and use the following setting:

# enter the HTTP server IP address e.g. points at
# enter the directory for the installation source e.g. /pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source/

I think that you will end up installing version 10.1
