Hi all,

I'm new to Suse Linux, and had one problem this morning.

I was installing wireshark and after installation the nautilus gave error and all icons and desktops disappeared. I used virtual console to restart the laptop, but when it comes to open gnome, an error message appears "Nautilus cannot be used now due to an unexpected error from Bonobo when attempting to register the file manager view server" and another error "The panel couldnt register with the Bonobo-activation server and will exit. it may be automatically restarted". After clicking OK i got desktop wallpaper only without anything else, no icons, no taskbar and even no response for right click.

Can you tell me how to fix this problem? Your help is haighly appreciated.

When this occurs again you could try killing any processes named "bonobo-activation-server" by running 'killall bonobo-activation-server' and see if logging in to your desktop again works for you.
