Mozilla browser does not open properly after changing theme
 

hello,

I'm now using SuSe 10.0 for a few months on my new laptop (HP pavilion zv6000).

After I changed the 'theme' of my Mozilla Firefox browser it fails to open properly!
I have an old version of Mozilla, so when donwloading a theme from the website (Mozilla addons) i had to choose a version thats compatible with mine.

I can't tell exactly wich version i downloaded because now, whenever i open up my browsewindow on KDE it opens but closes instantly, like if there's a bug in the command...
When i try to open it in shell, it gives back 3 failing reasons, and the same thing happens: I can see something opening, but it clicks away instantly.

Now the problem is that I cant change the theme again, because thats only possible when the window is already opened up.

Try this command

rm -rf ~/.mozilla

It clears the mozilla settings, maybe it will also reset your theme to defualt.

That will work, but it seems to be overkill to me. I just deleted a single file from there when it happened to me: the ******.default. You can also delete the profiles.ini if you have too, but I didn't need to. I have needed to on Windows more than once, though.

I don't know if my method is any better, nor do I know if you gain anything over the Penguin method, but there it is.

Mozilla Only Opens For Root
 

I am running SuSE 10.0 and have the Mozilla browser 1.7.11 x86_64.

I can run Mozilla as root, but unable to run it as a user.

The following is the error message I get when trying to run Mozilla as a user:

Found the answer to my own problem!

At the terminal prompt, I typed:

rm -rf .mozilla

Of course, this meant losing my current Firefox profile. However, the Mozilla browser, Firefox, Epiphany and Beagle are now working!

Removing the file ".mozilla" removes your current profile. Thus, if your profile becomes corrupted, you can remove it and start fresh.

I knew this info from a previous issue with my browsers. But what threw me off this time was that I was looking for a profile for the Mozilla browser. When I looked into the ".mozilla" file, all I saw (or all that I thought I saw) was the profile for Firefox, which was working fine!?!!

Maybe an experienced poster here can tell me how is it that Mozilla, Firefox and Epiphany are tied to the same profile?
