Mouse configuration not being saved - SuSe 9.3

Hi, I'm using SuSe 9.3.

On start up the mouse does not work.

Every time the system boots I have to find my way to yast using the keyboard and command line. From there I can get to hardware/mouse model configuration. The mouse then works straight away or on the first test.

The mouse will then work for that session but on reboot it fails. It seems that the mouse configuration is not being saved.

Wondering how I can get around this? Is there a file that I can manually edit somewhere?

Many thanks,
Tina

Try to setup x11 again.
CTRL+ALT+F1 for console 1.
init 3
sax2
then you should setup x11 again

or edit /etc/x11/xorg.conf. check the lines under "x11". Especially the line input device; there should be a entry "dev/input/mice"
