mounting usb/cdrom

Hello,
I use fvwm so need to mount cdroms/usb ports manually. cdrom used to be in my fstab under suse 9.1 but after upgrade to 10.1 it is not longer there and sysadmin says it automatically pops up, like usb, under kde. How do I mount cdrom/usbs manually?
thanks,
Mark

If no other USB, Firewire, Sata, or Scsi CDROMs exist then the dev should be /dev/scd0.
mount /dev/scd0 /mnt/cdrom
Change /mnt/cdrom to the directory you wish to mount to.
