Minor problem with local files

SO I am able to download RPMS to a local file and use it as a local repository.

However when I refresh the source after I've downloaded a new RPM I get this error.

How can I get rid of it. And how can I get to set the local directory under the Change Source of Installation to have a name like Local Directory where it will have guru for guru's site for instance.

Without knowing a little more about what you're trying to do, I'm not sure if the following is going to be what you're looking for. But here goes anyway... Here's a couple of things to try.

1.) Export the filesystem/subdirectory where you've placed all the RPM files. Then clients can mount it via NFS and issue "rpm -i package-name". I think "rpm -i *" will work too. I seem to recall doing that after downloading a slew of security patches from Red Hat a few years ago. (Though I think one at a time makes it easier to spot error messages should they get displayed.)

2.) I'm wondering if following the lead on how SuSE would normally be installed across a LAN would work. For example, load everything into something like /suse-share/CD1, export the /suse-share directory, and have clients point to "nfs://hostname/suse-share/CD1" in YOU. Worth a try though I suspect that something that the installer might be looking for in the root of a real CD might be missing from your collection of RPM files.

Good luck. Hope this helps a bit. Post any results back onto the forum.

To be a bit clearer. I have downloaded the RPMs to a directory on a FAT32 drive: /mnt/Dual/Linux/RPMS

I have used YaST to setup the directory as a installation source. The error occurs but I am able to install any new RPMs i place in that directory.
