MIC Problem > "Unable to find simple control mic"
 

That is what I get when I use alsamixer. My mic works, but I can't adjust it! I need to make it more sensitive. How can I remedy this problem? Thanks!

My sound recorders don't work either.... :-(
 

But my Skype phone calls work. The problem is on Skype people say my speech is alittle muffled/underwater sounding...works though

Have you tried alsamixer? Do "alsamixer -V all" in a terminal session.

Microphone works....when I tap on it I hear it loud and clear. Just no sound recorder.
