Maxtor 160 GB SATA HDD not Detected in SuSE 9.2 Professional
hi, guys, myself is again with a new query on this forum. Like all times i again seek your kind help.
I have AMD 64 BIT ( 939 ) 3000 + Processor and " MSI RS480M 2 - IL " motheboard. I installed Maxtor SATA 160 GB HDD on this system and install Windows XP which is running perfectly. Following my passion for SuSE , i tried so many times to install SuSE 9.2 Professional on the same System. But the problem is ...... At the very beginning the " YasT " gives the folliwing Message........ " There is not Hard Drive Detected in your System " I guess that SuSE 9.2 Pro does not support SATA HDD(s) . Am i right ? if it does not then, how can i make SuSE to detect and Install my HDD . so that i can install my favorite OS on the system. Plz, Help me......since i bought this system just for Linux, and i spent a big amount of money for this machine. I hope for your quick and kind reply. |
You'll need to spend more money.
www.3ware.com Get a SATA card of your choice, and it'll work forever- no configuration. |
I thought I remembered a thread that was similiar. Here is the link http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...not+recognized
Hopefully this will help you. BTW-- I am using SuSe SLES 9 for AMD 64 and had to use SP1 to use the onboard 4 port SATA controller for my board. |
